artist statement

the birch bark canoe was made to teach indigenous 世界杯2022赛程表淘汰赛 connections between western and indigenous science. the canoe was named after the wildflower song, to call our children home. 世界杯2022赛程表淘汰赛 , college staff, and members of the indigenous community came together to paint wildflowers on the canoe.

i am a metis artist and educator living, learning, and teaching in thunder bay, ontario. i am currently the program coordinator of embark, indigenous steam. i am deeply connected to the land, and love learning new ways to make useful things from the floor of the boreal forest.
