speaker bio: dr. roberto mazza is an assistant professor history at western illinois university. he is the author of jerusalem: from the ottomans to the british (2009) and co-editor of jerusalem in world war one: the palestine diary of a european diplomat (2011). dr. mazza holds a phd from the school of oriental and african studies (soas), university of london, a msc in international relations from italy’s bolgona university, and and ma in government and politics of the middle east from soas. click here for more information about the speaker.

the department of history in conjunction with the alumni association will be handing out its 2014 departmental awards to celebrate the accomplishments of our distinguished graduates. we will also be recognizing an organization and individual with our departmental community partnership awards.

honoured this year will be elinor barr (ba 1974, hba 1989), mark chochla (ba 1967, hba 1975), beth boegh, and the city of thunder bay archives.

the event will be held 7 october 2014 between 11:00am and 12:00 pm in the study coffee house, 阿根廷vs墨西哥竞猜 (above the university bookstore).
