canadian copyright for musicians

copyright, neighbouring rights,
moral rights - what does all this mean, and more importantly, how does
it affect musicians' daily lives? barb eccles, lakehead's manager,
technology transfer, will discuss the canadian copyright system and
explain how it impacts musicians. knowledge is power - come out and
get some answers.

erin brophey holds the position of section oboe andenglish horn with
the thunder bay symphony
orchestra. erin is also an active freelance musician and has performed
with many canadian orchestras including the kitchener- waterloo
symphony orchestra, symphony nova scotia and the toronto symphony
orchestra. in the summer months, ms. brophey plays in several festivals
including the charlottetown festival, the festival of the sound,
westben festival and the stratford music festival. erin received her
honours bachelor of music from wilfrid laurier university where she
studied with james mason. she completed her master of music degree at
carnegie mellon university under the tutelage of cynthia koledo
dealmeida. in addition to private teaching, erin is very interested in
arts education and has designed several multidisciplinary education
projects for young artists. she participates in the community arts and
heritage education project in thunder bay and is on faculty at the
inter-provincial music camp in parry sound.
