canadian science policy fellowship (cspf)

how to apply: 

the canadian science policy fellowship (cspf) is now accepting applications from phd holders interested in a year-long policy position, starting in september 2023, with a canadian government host office.

 

approved fellows receive an annual salary of $70,000 to $80,000 from their host offices, as well as professional development and networking opportunities facilitated by mitacs.

 

eligible applicants must:

 

  • be a canadian citizen or permanent resident
  • hold a phd in any academic discipline at the start of the fellowship
  • participate full-time in a 12-month fellowship with the host office
  • secure accommodation in the host city, and relocate to their host office as needed
  • negotiate a leave of absence from their current employer, as applicable
  • meet any additional requirements of their hosts, including (but not limited to) security clearance requirements

ontario vehicle innovation network (ovin): regional future workforce program

eligibility:

  • elementary and secondary public schools and school boards across ontario 

matching contribution 

ovin requires that successful proponents provide a matching contribution, meaning that one staff member per audience segment targeted has their salary covered by the applicant. additional requirements include: 

  • the staff members must be involved in all key activities of the program (please refer to the program’s key components for more information) 
  • volunteers do not qualify as staff members under ovin’s matching contribution requirement 

partnership requirements

all partners must be ontario–based

  • industry partners must be automotive and mobility industry members, including original equipment manufacturers (oems), tier 1 suppliers, and relevant industry associations. 
  • elementary and secondary public schools, school boards and post-secondary institutions. 
  • partners are expected to consult on program development to ensure it is in response to an industry skills/talent need.
how to apply: 
the ontario vehicle innovation network (ovin) has issued a call for expressions of interest under its regional future workforce program (rfw).  the purpose of the rfw pilot program is to encourage 世界杯2022赛程表淘汰赛 of all ages, from all regions of ontario, to pursue careers in the automotive and mobility sector.  
 
the specific goals of the program are as follows:
  •     to increase exposure to automotive and mobility sector opportunities and learning programs among 世界杯2022赛程表淘汰赛 across ontario regions and grade levels (kindergarten to post-secondary)  
  •     to increase the number of equity-deserving and underrepresented groups exploring careers, learning and development opportunities in the automotive and mobility sector
  •     to identify opportunities to build sustainable programs based on pilot programming  
  •     to facilitate collaboration across ontario between non-profit organizations, academic institutions, and the automotive and mobility industry to build a strong talent pipeline
applicants to this program can apply for up to $500,000 to develop and run initiatives as part of the rfw program. applicants are expected to create programs that engage a minimum of at least 500 世界杯2022赛程表淘汰赛 . the engagement programs must be of no cost for the student to participate. as well,  applicants must demonstrate experience in developing and also implementing education programs for audiences ranging from kindergarten to post-secondary.
 
although postsecondary institutions can submit more than one application to this program, the maximum funding an applicant can receive is $500,000 in total, regardless of how many audience segments their program will serve. it is recommended that an institution submits one coordinated application. therefore, if an applicant is interested in this program, they are asked to submit to andrew hacquoil, research facilitator, institutional programs (ahacquo1@lakeheadu.ca), the information required for an rfw expression of interest by 10:00 am on november 25 (please do not submit the expression of interest to ovin, but please provide answers to the questions on the eoi).
 
if more than one eoi is received then an internal committee will determine which eoi is submitted to the ovin program by november 30.

association of canadian universities for northern studies (acuns) opportunities

the kay and peter mcgeer scholarship for northern research - $3,000
this scholarship is available to graduate 世界杯2022赛程表淘汰赛 of all disciplines who are working to establish meaningful relationships with local northern communities based on knowledge-sharing. please note that special consideration will be given to 世界杯2022赛程表淘汰赛 from the north and/or projects that offer opportunities for indigenous community members, particularly youth, to participate in research. 
dr. weston blake jr. memorial doctoral scholarship - $10,000
proposals for this scholarship are invited from candidates in the physical sciences including (interdisciplinary and comparative studies) who are engaging in research leading to a thesis, and there is a direct northern field research/experience that is part of their studies (as well their program is relevant to northern challenges or issues).
dr. jim mcdonald scholarship for northern research - $5,000
this scholarship  is available to canadian citizens or permanent residents of canada who are enrolled in graduate studies in the social sciences and humanities whose research pertains to canada’s north and its inhabitants. 
canadian northern studies trust (cnst) scholarship - $10,000
this scholarship is available to 世界杯2022赛程表淘汰赛 who are citizens or permanent residents of canada who are enrolled in a doctoral program at a canadian university.  proposals from candidates from all subject areas including interdisciplinary  and comparative studies are invited.  candidates are required to be engaged in research culminating in a thesis.  their studies must also include direct northern field research and their research be relevant to northern challenges or issues.

how to apply: 

educational institution research awards are designed to encourage research at canadian universities and colleges in areas of interest to imperial oil's petroleum, petrochemical and energy resource development businesses. these areas include the fields of engineering, environmental, earth, chemical, and physical sciences.

every year, crs offers targeted funding opportunities through the operating grants competition, thanks to collaborations with valued partners and to the generosity of major donors whose families have been affected by cancer.

the specific objectives of this funding opportunity are to:

  • establish an interdisciplinaryinter-jurisdictional, and inter-sectoral national type 1 diabetes (t1d) screening research consortium that aims to investigate the feasibility of t1d screening in the general population in canada, building on the successes and experiences from other countries.
