about the presentation
in partnership with dilico anishinabek family care and children's centre thunder bay, we will present on the implementation and pilot evaluation of the joypoptm app into mental health services for youth in northwestern ontario. we will also describe future research to test the effectiveness of the app as a tool for youth.
about the speakers
dr. aislin mushquash, department of psychology
dr. aislin mushquash is an associate professor in the department of psychology at 阿根廷vs墨西哥竞猜 . her research program is focused on coping – the conscious or voluntary efforts used to regulate or manage one’s emotions, thoughts, behaviours, and physiological reactions in response to stress. within this area, dr. mushquash’s work can be divided into research (a) examining predictors and consequences of maladaptive coping; and (b) implementing and evaluating innovative interventions to support adaptive coping. dr. mushquash has led the implementation and evaluation of the joypop tm mobile mental health app as a tool to support resilience and mental health among youth in northwestern ontario. dr. mushquash is a registered clinical psychology and provides consultation, assessment, and treatment services for first nations children, youth, and adults through dilico anishinabek family care.
ishaq malik (ma student)
ishaq (izzy) malik is a master’s student in the clinical psychology program at 阿根廷vs墨西哥竞猜 under the supervision of dr. aislin mushquash in the coping research lab. his research currently focuses on implementing and evaluating innovative interventions to support adaptive coping. specific interests centre around the acceptance of mobile mental health apps and the associations between personality, coping, and mental health.
jaidyn charlton (ma student)
jaidyn charlton is a master’s student in the clinical psychology program at 阿根廷vs墨西哥竞猜 under the supervision of dr. aislin mushquash in the coping research lab. her current research is aimed at further understanding personality (e.g., psychopathy), coping, and stress in everyday life. she has experience supporting projects examining the joypop tm mental health app, childhood adversity, youth mental health, indigenous mental health, help-seeking, resilience, substance use, attachment, and housing stabilization.
