as announced last week, sshrc will be holding three webinars on the upcoming insight development grants 2014 competition and the changes to the application portal, including the sshrc canadian common cv.  you do not need to register in advance.

the webinars will be held on thursday, december 5th and friday,  december 6th at the following times:

·       in english:

o   thursday, dec 5th, 13:30-15:30 est and 

o   friday, dec 6th, 13:30-15:30 est 

·       in french: thursday, dec 5th, 10:00-12:00 est.

the webinars will be held via adobe connect (for the visual presentation and written questions only) and teleconference (for the sound).

sshrc research portal / ccv information session

in order to help faculty members submitting a sshrc insight development grant to the february 2014 competition, the office of research services (ors) is offering an information session on the sshrc research portal and common ccv on december 3 from 10-12 in at3002. information will be provided on the following:

1.  using the research portal. 

2.  completing the sshrc common cv.

3.  linking your common cv to your sshrc idg application. 

any questions/concerns that the ors is not able to answer at the workshop will be forwarded to sshrc for answers.  faculty members interested in attending the workshop are asked to please send an e-mail to andrew hacquoil (ahacquo1@lakeheadu.ca) no later than november 28.

nohfc presentation

the northern ontario heritage fund corporation (nohfc)  recently introduced a new suite of programs:  strategic economic infrastructure, northern community capacity building, northern innovation, northern business opportunity and northern ontario internship.  these new grants replace nohfc's previous programs.

in order to provide information to researchers on the nohfc's new program architecture, peter benz, northern development advisor, ministry of northern development & mines, thunder bay, will be presenting an information session for 阿根廷vs墨西哥竞猜 faculty members in at1005 on november 20 from 9:30am to 11:00am.

faculty members are encouraged to attend this session as it will provide valuable information on these new programs.  please contact andrew hacquoil at ahacquo1@lakeheadu.ca by november 15 if you are able to attend this session.

community engagement visits: invitation to nserc webinar june 26

nserc is conducting a series of community engagement visits to provide researchers, 世界杯2022赛程表淘汰赛 and other stakeholders with an opportunity to learn more about some recent program and policy developments. these visits will also serve as a platform for the community to ask questions and seek more information from some of nserc's grants and scholarships experts.

key topics will include:

o          common cv & new research portal
o          harmonization of the canada graduate scholarships
o          five-year evaluation of the discovery grants program
o          changes to the post doctorate fellowships timelines
o          allocation of discovery grants budget among evaluation groups
