to develop an evaluation framework that will be used to conduct an evaluation of the effectiveness of counselling provided to couples (i.e. conjoint counselling) upon completion of a two-year pilot.  the evaluation framework will be developed in conjunction with a steering committee comprised of ministry staff and stakeholders from the violence against women (vaw) sector.

internal competition for: early researcher awards round 11

in the past 阿根廷vs墨西哥竞猜 has been successful in securing awards through the previous rounds of the ministry of research and innovation (mri)’s early researcher award (era) program.  the purpose of this program is to help promising, recently-appointed ontario researchers build their research teams of undergraduates, graduate 世界杯2022赛程表淘汰赛 , post-doctoral fellows, research assistants, associates, and technicians.

阿根廷vs墨西哥竞猜 invites early career researchers who meet the era program criteria, to apply to the 2015 internal era competition.  you are eligible to apply for this award if you:

• are a full-time faculty member or principal investigator at an eligible research institution
• started your independent academic research career no more than 5 years ago (as of july 1, 2015)
• completed your first phd, dvm or md no more than 10 years ago (as of july 1, 2015)
• have not already held an early researcher award
• are not a tier 1 canada research chair.

researchers may receive only one era during their career.  to be competitive, researchers are encouraged to be actively involved in conducting research that has been supported by peer-reviewed funding and to demonstrate academic independence from previous supervisors.

under this program, an award to a leading researcher is worth a maximum of $100,000 and must be matched by an additional $50,000. for this competition, 阿根廷vs墨西哥竞猜 will provide the required matching contribution of $50,000 ($10,000 per year over 5 years) towards two applications. if researchers, however, are able to access funds from other sources to meet the matching requirement, lakehead will consider submitting more than two meritorious era applications. please note that awards administered by the federal granting councils (natural sciences and engineering research council, canadian institutes of health research, social sciences and humanities research council) are not eligible partner contributions.

notices of intent (noi), using the mri form, are due in the office of research services no later than june 22, 2015 (this is required in order for the applicant to be registered with mri). full era applications are then due internally in the office of research services no later than july 24, 2015 and will be reviewed by the 阿根廷vs墨西哥竞猜 senate research committee (src) to determine which application(s) will be submitted to the era program.

in addition to the required era application form and attachments, researchers are required to provide three original signed letters of reference in sealed and signed envelopes clearly marked with “era reference for (insert applicant’s name on envelope)”.  these sealed envelopes should be put inside another bigger envelope addressed to the office of research services, 阿根廷vs墨西哥竞猜 (955 oliver road, thunder bay, ontario, p7b 5e1).  one additional copy of the reference letters should be sent by fax (807-346-7749) or e-mail (ahacquo1@lakeheadu.ca) to the office of research services or included in the application package for the purpose of lakehead’s internal review.

the ontario institute for cancer research (oicr) announces the availability of a funding opportunity for a research fellowship award in transformative pathology. this award was created to increase the opportunities for training pathologists in the area of molecular diagnostic pathology in ontario. trainees will be located either at an ontario hospital or at oicr, and their training program will be established in collaboration with the oicr transformative pathology program.

genome canada has launched a request for applications (rfa) on june 16, 2014, and is seeking proposals for large-scale research projects which focus on the application of genomics in the area of agri-food and fisheries and aquaculture. the competition will be a partnership with western grains research foundation (wgrf).

this competition aims to support projects focused on using genomic approaches to address challenges and opportunities related to global food safety, security and sustainable production, and thereby contribute to the canadian bioeconomy and the well-being of canadians.

in order to better prepare the projects being submitted from ontario for this competition, the ontario genomics institute (ogi) will complete a due diligence review of the applications prior to submission to genome canada. please note to accommodate this process that the deadlines for ogi differ from those in the official rfa from genome canada. all applicants will receive feedback on their applications including gaps and areas for improvement. ogi plans to use this feedback to assess the level and type of support required to help the teams through the application process.

researchers in ontario intending to submit an application are strongly encouraged to contact ogi to discuss details of the competition such as the scope, the application process, tips for writing the benefit for canada section of the proposal, how to incorporate ge³ls in proposals, and co-funding requirements.

funds available

• there is up to $30 million available for this competition through genome canada with an additional $5 million available from western grains research foundation (wgrf).
• at least 60% of the requested funding for eligible costs for each project must be obtained through co-funding from other sources.
• genome canada will invest a minimum of $600,000 to a maximum of $3.3 million in an individual project (i.e., with the maximum investment from genome canada, plus the required co-funding, a total investment of more than $10 million per project is possible)
• successful individual projects will be awarded funding for a term of up to four years.

all applicants must identify and address key ethical, economic, environmental, legal and/or social aspects relevant to the genomics research (ge³ls) being proposed as part of the overall research plan (for information about ogi’s ge³ls support program, please click here). stand alone ge³ls proposals are also eligible to be submitted as large-scale projects.
