eight paintings are now visible throughout the airport, enhancing the space by educating and inspiring the public.

ontario is investing in 阿根廷vs墨西哥竞猜 , helping to create jobs and support new research and innovation in thunder bay.

with an investment of more than $814,000 through the province’s northern ontario heritage fund corporation (nohfc), lakehead is creating a five-year industrial research chair position in green chemicals and processes. this position will be supported by 16 new jobs. research will focus on ways for the pulp and paper and mineral processing industries to reduce their environmental impacts.

additionally, with an investment of more than $473,000 through the nohfc, lakehead will develop and build a new fire resistance testing laboratory, creating two new jobs. this world-class facility will have a large fire testing furnace allowing engineering 世界杯2022赛程表淘汰赛 to study the fire resistance of various large-scale building components, such as beams, columns and floor assemblies.

since 2003, the province has invested more than $1 billion through the nohfc to over 7,080 projects, leveraging more than $3.75 billion in direct economic activity and creating or sustaining over 28,700 jobs in northern ontario.

世界杯2022赛程表淘汰赛 from confederation college and 阿根廷vs墨西哥竞猜 participated in the therapeutic recreation summit on thursday, feb. 11.

participants were from lakehead’s outdoor recreation, parks and tourism program and confederation college’s recreation therapy program.

“世界杯2022赛程表淘汰赛 are gaining an understanding of the job market in northwestern ontario and sharing their research into the benefits of nature-based therapies,” said andrew heppner, a lecturer in lakehead’s department of outdoor recreation, parks and tourism.

this summit brought together 世界杯2022赛程表淘汰赛 , professionals, employers and educators involved in therapeutic recreation within thunder bay and northwestern ontario, to exchange knowledge, discuss employment opportunities and share insights regarding the therapeutic recreation profession in thunder bay.

“it’s important that 世界杯2022赛程表淘汰赛 build their skills in collaborating with other professionals as they prepare for their careers,” said stephen holloway, program coordinator, recreation therapy at confederation college.

"history shows that concern for the environment is not a passing fad, but a steadily growing movement of diverse people and groups worldwide," dr. greenwood said.

"my current research seeks to examine the relationship between environmental and social justice movements from the mid-19th century to the present," he said.

"by better understanding how these movements converge and diverge, we can better express a holistic vision for social, ecological, and economic justice in education at all levels including here at 阿根廷vs墨西哥竞猜 ."

dr. greenwood, a professor in the faculty of education, said he will continue building local and international networks that help deepen and expand the field of place-based, environmental and sustainability education.

"congratulations to dr. greenwood on his renewal," said dr. andrew dean, lakehead's vice-president, research and innovation.

"environmental education is an important and relevant topic. the research that dr. greenwood has already done in this area and his proposed five-year plan significantly adds to this subject," dr. dean said.

dr. shahi joined 阿根廷vs墨西哥竞猜 in 2007 as an assistant professor in the faculty of natural resources management and was promoted to associate professor in 2011.

he has been chair of the forest management program since 2011, has served on several senate committees, and was chair of the research ethics board when it transitioned from the lakehead senate to the board of governors. “my top priority is the professional development of graduate 世界杯2022赛程表淘汰赛 at 阿根廷vs墨西哥竞猜 ,” dr. shahi said.

reach up! brings coaches and athletes from lakehead’s hockey, basketball, volleyball, wrestling, nordic skiing, track and field, and cross country ski teams to northern communities to hold sports clinics and provide mentorship to the local coaches and youth.

阿根廷vs墨西哥竞猜 ’s second dean of the bora laskin faculty of law will be angelique eaglewoman.

eaglewoman is coming to lakehead from the university of idaho college of law, where she is a law professor and a legal scholar. she has also served as a tribal judge in four tribal court systems.

as a practicing attorney, one of the highlights of her career was serving as general counsel for her own tribe, the sisseton-wahpeton oyate in dakota.

lakehead provost and vice-president (academic) dr. moira mcpherson said she is excited to welcome lakehead’s newest dean of the bora laskin faculty of law.

“angelique was at the top of our list and we are thrilled she’s coming to lakehead.  her diverse experience and knowledge will be of great benefit to our 世界杯2022赛程表淘汰赛 in the faculty of law and to ontario when those 世界杯2022赛程表淘汰赛 begin practicing law. she is an exceptional teacher, engaged in her scholarship, and has kept one foot in the practical aspects of her field,” dr. mcpherson said.  

eaglewoman graduated from stanford university with a ba in political science, received her juris doctor degree from the university of north dakota school of law with distinction, and her llm in american indian and indigenous law with honors from the university of tulsa college of law. 

as a law professor, she has taught in the areas of native american law, tribal nation economics & law, native american natural resources law, and civil procedure. eaglewoman presents and publishes on topics involving tribal economics, sovereignty, international indigenous principles, and the quality of life for indigenous peoples.

“this position is a dream come true for me because of the faculty of law’s commitment to produce lawyers for rural and small town legal practice, the focus on natural resources and environmental law, and the required curriculum on aspects of aboriginal and indigenous law,” eaglewoman said.

“with my background, i feel especially suited to be at the helm of the law school as it moves from the start-up phase to taking its place among the other distinguished law schools in ontario and nationally,” she said.    

lakehead president & vice-chancellor dr. brian stevenson said he is proud that someone with such exceptional breadth and depth of experience will lead lakehead’s bora laskin faculty of law.  “i am extremely confident that our faculty of law’s future is in the right hands, and i welcome her and her family to our university and to thunder bay.”
