ontario ministry of transportation grant funding opportunity: now accepting applications for the 2019-2020 road safety research partnership program

how to apply: 

the ontario ministry of transportation (mto) is pleased to announce the call for proposals as part of the 2019-2020 road safety research partnership program (rsrpp). this program funds researchers in the broader public sector to conduct cutting-edge, road safety research that supports ontario’s efforts to improve road safety.

for the 2019-2020 competition, proposals must involve one of the following five key priority areas: 1) distracted driving; 2) driver education, training, and evaluation; 3) impaired driving; 4) automated/connected vehicles and advanced driver assistance systems; or 5) vulnerable road users. the mto will be funding up to 5 projects, each with a maximum value of $70,000 or $100,000 depending on the priority area addressed (see proposal guidelines below). all relevant documents for this funding opportunity can be downloaded using the links below, including additional information on the priority areas and detailed instructions on the application process.

mitacs and the german academic exchange service (daad) have partnered to offer the rise-globalink research internship (rise-gri), which offers undergraduate 世界杯2022赛程表淘汰赛 at canadian universities the opportunity to undertake summer research internships at eligible german institutions.

rise-gri pairs canadian 世界杯2022赛程表淘汰赛 with three-month projects supervised by phd 世界杯2022赛程表淘汰赛 in germany.

  • open to full-time undergraduates in biology, chemistry, computer science, physics, earth sciences, or engineering (or a closely related field) who have completed at least two years of a four- or five-year program
    • 世界杯2022赛程表淘汰赛 in quebec enrolled in a three-year undergraduate degree must have completed at least one year of their university program

eligibility: 

this call is open to individual organizations or groups of up to four organizations working in a consortium located within and outside of global partnership for education member countries. organizations applying for this project can be non-profit or for-profit.

how to apply: 

scope

the global partnership for education (gpe) and idrc invite expressions of interest from individual organizations or consortia of up to four organizations to build knowledge and capacity on scaling the impact of educational innovations in gpe member countries.

the project funded out of this expression of interest will:

  1. design and lead action research on scaling across knowledge and innovation exchange-funded projects;
  2. conduct additional research that engages multiple perspectives on the processes and critical success factors on scaling education innovations in gpe member countries; and
  3. use findings from this research to produce practical and conceptual guidance on scaling that balances quality, equity, efficiency, and sustainability for education systems and outcomes in developing country contexts.

the research component of the project should be guided by the following key question:

“how can educational innovations be designed, adapted, and scaled to improve education access and quality within gpe member countries while maintaining quality, equity, efficiency, and sustainability of their impacts and enabling transformative change of educational institutions?”

tanaka fund program

how to apply: 

the tanaka fund was established in 1974 as the result of an exchange of gifts between the governments of canada and japan. canada offered $1,000,000 to japan to promote canadian studies in japanese universities, while japan provided 300 million yen for the enhancement of japanese studies in canadian universities. the funds were used to establish the “japan foundation trust fund for the promotion of japanese studies in canadian universities”.
