defence research and development canada (drdc) has a current requirement to undertake an assessment of the thermal insulation, evaporative resistance, and moisture management properties of in-service and prototype canadian armed forces (caf) clothing. this information will be used to inform future clothing acquisitions and in the development of heat/cold exposure policies, with the goal of optimizing the performance, health, and safety of caf members.
