how to apply: 
nserc invites applications for initiatives that promote the natural sciences and engineering (nse) to canada's young people, particularly to under-represented groups in nse careers. promoscience encourages a wide variety of organizations to apply for funding to help young canadians in elementary school and high school (including the equivalent first year of college in quebec), and their teachers, to develop science and engineering skills and interests. activities that will encourage indigenous undergraduate 世界杯2022赛程表淘汰赛 to pursue graduate studies in the nse are also supported.

the royal society wolfson visiting fellowship

how to apply:

investigators worldwide contributing to the detection or deterrence of performance-enhancing drugs are eligible for pcc grants.

grant cycle deadlines:
pre-applications are due march 1st, july 1st, and november 1st of each year. applicants invited to submit full applications must do so by april 1st, august 1st, or december 1st, depending on the cycle (30 days after the pre-application due date).

with an emphasis on original work that focuses on improving existing analytical methods for detecting particular drugs, developing new analytical methods to test for substances not currently detectable, and discovering cost-effective approaches for testing widely abused substances across all levels of sport, the following areas of investigation reflect the pcc’s current research priorities:

  • developing methods of cost-effective testing to detect and deter the use of banned and illegal substances.
  • developing testing protocols to detect designer substances used for doping purposes.
  • improving existing analytical methods to detect particular drugs, ex. gh, igf-1, epo, hcg.
  • developing analytical methods to detect performance enhancing drugs not currently detectable.
  • longitudinal urinary excretion patterns, metabolism and dose-concentration.
  • critical reviews to support interpretation of laboratory data.
  • alternative specimens, (ex. oral fluid, dried blood/plasma spots) for testing.

als canada – brain canada career transition award 2023

how to apply: 

brain canada and the als society of canada are pleased to announce the launch of the 2023 career transition award. this program will identify and engage rising stars pursuing innovative research in labs and academic institutions in canada. the career transition award has the long-term goal of developing the next generation of scientists across various disciplines within basic and clinical sciences, contributing to knowledge generation and translation in als. 

als canada and brain canada will provide a three (3) year award to support a talented young investigator to pursue advanced research and transition into a junior faculty position at a canadian institution. the award will be for up to three (3) years for a total of $250,000 cad. each year, als canada and brain canada will provide a $60,000 salary and $20,000 research allowance, with $30,000 for research allowance in year three.
