the queen elizabeth scholars program provides funding for a program of exchange of 世界杯2022赛程表淘汰赛 in support of collaboration initiatives and academic diplomacy.  universities are limited to the submission of a single institutional application. for this funding cycle, lakehead international and research and innovation are collaborating to develop a joint institutional proposal. please note that the qes program is a highly competitive program with an anticipated funding of 6-7 projects across canada.

the program aims to develop the next generation of innovative leaders and community builders by providing enriched academic, professional, and cross-cultural experiences and by facilitating lasting local and global community engagement.  projects must support at least one of three themes:  1) health, 2) education, and/or 3) social and economic development.

funding of up to cad 300,000 over five years is available to support student mobility - both inbound and outbound (with a priority on outbound numbers).   the number of 世界杯2022赛程表淘汰赛 funded depends on the length of stay of the desired opportunities (minimum of 2 months).  eligible activities include:

• outbound lakehead 世界杯2022赛程表淘汰赛 : study, research or internship support for canadian citizens or permanent residents (3rd/4th year undergrads, master's, and phd 世界杯2022赛程表淘汰赛 , must be under 35 years at the time of application). 
• inbound (visiting 世界杯2022赛程表淘汰赛 ):  short-term study or research for graduate 世界杯2022赛程表淘汰赛 only from an eligible country. 

note 1:  while qes guidelines support funding for international graduate 世界杯2022赛程表淘汰赛 seeking degrees (long-term study), the faculty of graduate studies is unable to guarantee tuition waivers, therefore this proposal will not include opportunities for long-term (graduate degree) study.

note 2:  the overall qes program must commit 70% of funding to outbound student projects for canadian 世界杯2022赛程表淘汰赛 .  therefore, successful eois must include an outbound component.

note 3:  all qes funded activities for outbound 世界杯2022赛程表淘汰赛 must be for academic credit/recognition (includes co-curricular record).  there is a mandatory community engagement component for all activities. 

note 4:  世界杯2022赛程表淘汰赛 must be able to communicate in at least one of the languages used by the partner organization/institution (if the host institution says english is ok, then that will be accepted).

we are seeking input from lakehead faculty members with international collaborations who would be interested in supporting student exchange through this program.  we anticipate being able to support 2-3 collaborations through this proposal based on (a) meeting eligibility criteria and program objectives, (b) level of support within lakehead and from the partner institution(s), (c) departmental/institutional support for outbound (lakehead) student participation, (d) our ability to construct a coherent plan around diverse proposals.

nominations are now open for the 2023 impactful actions awards! the annual award recognizes leaders who are making a profound impact in communities globally by inspiring collaborative solutions to difficult problems. the award launched in 2021 and now includes two categories – young leader and lifetime achievement.

this new funding opportunity offers grants that can range from $30,000 to $300,000 per year for up to three years to support canadian academic researchers collaborating on research projects with international researchers from the academic sector. applicants may apply any time until 8 pm (et) on january 31, 2024.

mobilizing insights in defence and security (minds) has partnered with the nato defense college (ndc), located in rome, italy, to offer members of the canadian defence and security expert community an opportunity to conduct a five-month fellowship, from february to july each year, at the college as part of the ndc research division. the selected fellow will receive a $100,000 grant to cover all expenses related to this opportunity.

pcc research grants support projects advancing knowledge in the anti-doping sphere. pre-applications are reviewed three times per year: march 1, july 1, and november 1. applicants are encouraged to review the research priorities of the pcc before applying. applicants that are invited to complete a full application, are encouraged to review the instructions below. full applications are due on the first day of the month following the pre-application deadline.

brain canada and the alzheimer society of canada are pleased to announce the launch of the knowledge translation and exchange (kte) accelerator grants! the purpose of the kte accelerator grants program is to help accelerate the dissemination of scientific findings on alzheimer’s and related dementias to various audiences beyond academic researchers. 

kte accelerator grants are designed to stimulate innovative, out-of-the-box, ideas that ensure research translates into implementation and eventually impact. these grants provide researchers with the funding needed to develop kte products relevant to their work in the field of alzheimer’s and related dementias. 

up to $200,000 cad is available for up to three years. total grant amounts are flexible to accommodate the needs required to produce a range of kte products, but the minimum budget allowed is $5,000 cad and the total budget cannot surpass $200,000 cad.

• current and past alzheimer society research program (asrp) grant and award recipients 
• current and past recipients of a brain canada funded grant focused on alzheimer’s and related dementias research 
• current research leads of the canadian consortium on neurodegeneration in aging (ccna)
