the crcc program will support pilot projects to enable communities and sectors to work together to develop coordinated solutions to climate change risks in coastal regions. there is a total of $30 million to support up to 25 regional-scale pilot projects on canada’s three marine coasts and in the great lakes – st. lawrence region. selected pilot projects will represent diverse economic, social, and environmental conditions and different types of adaptation actions across canada. further, the crcc results will have national benefit by providing evidence and learning to inform adaptation approaches and actions in other regions across the country.
the open call for proposals will provide contribution funding for pilot projects that accelerate adaptation at a regional-scale through integrated, inclusive, and innovative actions. please visit the call for proposals webpage for more information about eligibility and funding requirements, and to download the applicant guide and application form. projects would be implemented between april 1, 2024, and december 31, 2027. the deadline to apply under this stream is december 13, 2023.
there is an indigenous-led project call for proposal stream for eligible indigenous applicants who require additional support and/or time to develop their proposals outside of the open call for proposals process. the government of canada may fund up to 100% of total indigenous-led project costs under both streams. interested applicants are invited to contact adaptation@nrcan-rncan.gc.ca for more information.
